Introduction – Matt Brown
Hello everyone,
My name is Matt Brown. I am a fourth year student at McMaster University. I am majoring in environmental science, and I am also pursuing a minor degree in GIS. Right now, I am working on an undergraduate thesis that examines the robustness of transportation networks in Hamilton, Ontario. I am also learning about app development, 3D mapping, and other advanced topics in my other courses.
I am currently very interested in learning about the programming side of GIS technology, and am actively studying how to use Python with the goal of eventually integrating this knowledge into GIS software. After getting a foundation in Python, I want to learn about JavaScript, HTML, and CSS so I can explore the web development aspect of GIS.
I’m looking forward to meeting some of you at the Toronto User Conference next week!
Cheers,
Matt
