Hey everyone, my name is Danielle and I am new to the ECCE program (just recently accepted). I currently go to Carleton University (Ottawa, ON) and am in my fourth year, hoping to pursue a Master’s degree in marine conservation and ecology. I found GIS in my second year, and have been involved in it ever since. I enjoy it particularly because I can apply it to the field of science I am passionate about and can use it to develop new ways to answer questions in biology. I am hoping to be able to combine my knowledge in science and my knowledge in GIS together in grad school in order to help develop new methodologies for marine conservation. I look forward to reading many blog posts and to seeing all the ideas out there from everyone else!
